The 2008 Greenwich International Early Music Festival and Exhibition 14th -16th November 2008 The World's largest Early Music Festival and Exhibition returns to the Old Royal Naval College for a 7th year! Jointly promoted by The Early Music Shop, the Greenwich Foundation and Trinity College of Music the event is an essential fixture on the early music calendar, attended by an ever increasing number of exhibitors and visitors each year.This year's festival will also be celebrating the 40th anniversary of The Early Music Shop, with an impressive line up of performing artists, and a number of special events to mark the occasion. The largest Early Music Exhibition of its kind! A wide cross-section of early instrument makers from around the globe, shops, music publishers, societies, recording companies and early music forums all gathered under one roof. This is the perfect opportunity to compare, contrast and hopefully buy the instrument you had always promised yourself! Exhibitors will show off their products in front of experts and clients and provide advice on all aspects of these instruments from basic servicing, finishing and string replacement to decoration and troubleshooting. An array of superb instruments will be on display and for sale including harpsichords, clavichords, spinets, organs, viols, baroque violins, mediaeval fiddles, lutes, harps, hurdy-gurdies, crumhorns, shawms, rebecs, pipes, sackbutts, trumpets, drums, tabors, and an incredible variety of recorders. Makers' Demonstration Recitals In addition there will be makers' demonstration recitals throughout each day (on the hour) sponsored by the makers themselves. This will take place in the Old Royal Naval College Chapel on the afternoon of Sunday 16th November 2008 at the Greenwich International Festival and Exhibition of Early Music. Que pena não haver masterclasse de canto, senão assim já tinha uma muito boa desculpa para ir.
De qualquer forma nunca se sabe, pode ser que eu consiga ir, tenho de ver, mas vontade não me falta!
